Hello and Happy New Year to anyone who reads this. After a long time, I’m back to say that I am now post-menopausal since last November, as I hadn’t had a period for over a year up to that time.
But I’m experiencing terrible joint pains, and continuous hot flushes. The latter I find occur only when I’m in the warmth, like a well-heated room for instance. If I’m out in the cold, I never get a hot flush. As for the aching joints, I despair.
And I’m not sure if this is merely auto-suggestion, but I also find myself becoming clumsy and even more short-tempered than usual. But then, I have a stressful full-time job, I’m studying for a post-graduate diploma, I run a home, I take French lessons, and now with the New Year upon us, I’ve resumed my gym attendance, as I have at least 20 pounds to lose!
So I’m not sure how much is due to the menopause or to lifestyle. All I know is that I will continue to try and get fit, regardless of the aching joints, and I will do my best to eat a low-fat diet and enjoy the rest of life. Can’t do much more, really! Of late I’ve been really preoccupied with my own mortality, pondering about how much longer I have here on God’s earth. Very morose, but for this I do blame the menopause!
Olderbutwiser, thanks for the suggestion re Hyalofemme – any idea where I can get it from? Am still with the topical HRT, but I don’t find it makes any difference really.
And thanks for your response Susanne.
